What is the San Ramon Valley and Diablo Valley South?

The San Ramon Valley typically defines the area of the I680 corridor from Alamo, south to San Ramon.  Included in the San Ramon Valley is Alamo, Danville, Blackhawk, Diablo and San Ramon.  Just at the base of Mt. Diablo, some also refer to this area as the “Diablo Valley” as well.  Flanked on the east by Mount Diablo State Park and on the west by the Las Trampas Ridge, the valley is a designated highway scenic route.

Beautiful, if not a bit rural in feel, Alamo sits snugly between Walnut Creek and Danville. San Ramon

San Ramon is located on the southern most portion of Contra Costa county located along the 680 freeway.  Just south of Danville, San Ramon has grown tremendously over the last 2-3 decades.  What used to be huge open fields, is now home to Bishop Ranch and large business parks playing home to many local, national and international companies.  San Ramon is spread out of a large geographic area, and has shopping, strip malls and parks dotted throughout its boundaries.  If you like golf there is luxury Bridges golf course, more moderate Canyon Lakes and the older San Ramon golf course.  All have housing and neighborhoods built up around them to create each, their own feel of community.  San Ramon homes and land ranges from affordable condominiums and townhomes, to luxury estates and more rural ranch and horse property (and everything in between!)  The excellent schools and many parks and recreational activities attract many families to San Ramon.  From the established neighborhoods of Twin Creeks, Canyon Crest and Bollinger Hills, to the large, newer, master planned subdivisions of Windemere, Gale Ranch, Deerwood and Bridges, San Ramon is sure to please!  The Dougherty Valley which includes communities such as Windemere and Gale Ranch, are still growing, and new construction is still available here.  Families have flocked here for the master planned schools, community centers, trails, parks and library.  The schools are new and modern and boast high test scores.  There are spotted infills of newer homes on the Westside, including the most luxurious, and home to sports stars and local celebs; Norris Canyon Estates.  Search the MLS for San Ramon homes, and ask for a free tour of all San Ramon’s offerings!
