Contra Costa County is one of nine counties that make up the San Francisco Bay Area. The county has one of the fastest growing work forces in the state and due to the availability of relatively high wage skilled and professional jobs, is consistently ranked high on a variety of income measurements. In recent years, fast economic development along the I-680 corridor has accounted for significant job creation in the cities of Walnut Creek, Concord and San Ramon. Contra Costa includes 19 incorporated cities; Richmond in the West, Oakley in the East, San Ramon in the South and Concord right in the middle. Unique in that within about 20 minutes, a prospective home buyer could find just about any price range. Living styles vary from rural and “small town feel” in Clayton or Canyon, a more trendy, small city feel in Walnut Creek or Concord, or check out a more eclectic and historic waterfront area in Martinez – you’ll find a destination to suit you!  Lafayette, Orinda and Moraga make up the area known as “Lamorinda” and offers huge convenience to those commuting to San Francisco or Oakland, being just off Highway 24, great scoring schools and small town charm with all the modern amenities.

From condos under 100k, to multi-million dollar estates, ranch and horse property (and every rancher, tri-level or eichler in between), those searching for homes, condos or land for sale, can find just about anything within that 20 minute drive in Contra Costa!

Contra Costa has recently developed an impressive, comprehensive online database of services offered in the county. From 4H clubs and educational services, to addiction and health care resources. You can find the online database by clicking here.
