Search foreclosures in Contra Costa County

The timing of a foreclosure can vary. The green “pre-foreclosure” properties are the ones that have been served their “first” foreclosure notice. This notice is good for 3 months. At the conclusion of the 3 month period, the bank may then serve them with “trustee sale” notice (aka auction) and these are the auction properties indicated with blue. Depending on the situation of the owner, some of these properties are listed as short sales already, or they may be attempting a loan modification. It’s common these sales are postponed or cancelled. These properties, on the date indicated, may be available on the courthouse steps, or if returned to the bank (the properties indicated in red), will be back on the market to the general public within a few weeks or months.
